Amara is the Arbitration Coordinator for Intercede Center for Arbitration and Mediation. She is a very vibrant legal practitioner, Internationally accredited Mediator and Arbitrator; the Principal Dispute Resolution Consultant at NOISE & BLUE ADR firm, also an appointed member of the Neutral’s Panel of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Lagos Court of Arbitration (LCA) Expedited ADR Scheme for MSMEs.
She obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from the Prestigious Rivers State University (RSU), Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria in 2006 and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 2007. Building on her interest in energy and environmental law she successfully completed a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Petroleum and Environmental Law in 2016 and obtained a Master of Laws Degree (LLM) – Focus: Oil & Gas and Maritime law from the Rivers State University (RSU) in 2018.
In her thirteen years’ post-call period, apart from improving her educational qualifications and standards, Amara has worked and volunteered in diverse sectors, both in Nigeria and the Middle East, gaining knowledge and experience in the insurance, security, energy, beauty/cosmetic sectors, etc. Amara has successfully completed various ADR and conflict management trainings and accreditations; locally and internationally. She successfully completed the globally recognized Mediation Skills Training with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR UK) and is a CEDR Accredited Mediator. She is a certified Arbitrator; a very active member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIARB) UK and a serving member of the Executive Committee of the Port Harcourt Chapter, Nigeria Branch of the Institute.
